Are things calming down around your home after celebrating? Christmas was wonderful here. With all the baking & snow that fell, it was heaven for me. It was nice to take a few days off from baking but it is time to get back in that kitchen, as if I go to long without baking I get antsy and want to bake like a mad woman! I hope you & all your families had a wonderful celebration filled with lot’s of love & joy!
Todays topic is actually going to be about books. Not cookbooks. Although I love thumbing through a new cookbook now & then, what I am talking about are regular good ole story books! How about a mystery? Better yet, a mystery in a bakery setting? Right up my alley. I was introduced to “cozy” or “culinary” mysteries a while back. I must say I have become hooked. It is a perfect combination.
One of my favorite series I’ve been reading is “Cupcake Bakery Mystery“. It is written by Jenn McKinlay. Very fun reads! So far there are 3 books in the series, it is fairly new. I’ve been reading others too as well as stand alone books. If you love reading & baking you should give the first book a try. If you own a Kindle you can also download & read the first chapter for free, just to see if it interests you.
Incase you are wondering, I was not asked to write about any of this, just sharing something else, my love of reading with all of you! If you are interested in any of the other “baking mysteries” I’ve read, please feel free to contact me as I’d love to talk books with you.
I plan on getting in the kitchen tomorrow and making something yummy! This snowy weather also puts me in a baking mood. Hubby has the next 4 days off so I might have to push some goodies off on some neighbors or friends! Happy Baking!!
